In the beginning God. . .

People from all eras and areas seem to have pondered about the beginning and the end of time as man knows it.  One of the defining things about God is that He has no beginning and no end.  As finite beings we can only comprehend the infinity of God if we recognize Him as our beginning and our end.  Even then our comprehension is shallow.

Time, including the end of time belongs to God.  However, He is not limited by the bounds of time, but created time when He created our world.  God even created a massive time piece using our planet, our moon, the sun and stars as the cogs that turn within His time piece as they mark the passing of time.

For the sake of communication with mankind, God invented the passing of time and seasons so man will know his days on this planet are numbered and learn to rejoice in the revelation that his tribulations, travails, and trials have an end.  Many people profess to understand God’s secrets regarding the end of time.  The desires of many more people to prepare for the end of time drive these self-professed prophets to proclaim their importance to the end-time plans of God.  I add my voice to this cacophony believing sincerely that it is my obligation to do so.

The following chart is a timeline displaying the sequence of end-time events.  The first three events in the timeline are drawn to scale representing length of duration, but the last four are not.  While I believe the scriptures give us a sequence of the passing of time regarding end-time events, it does not give us a starting date.  I do not know when the end-times begin, but it will be marked in such a way only those without ears to hear could turn a deaf ear to the warnings.  The character of God insists to those knowing Him that He will dedicate the largest portion of the last day events reconciling the world to Himself before He comes in His all-powerful glory.  2 Peter 3:9

Time of the End

(1) Restore the Church–It is my understanding since judgment begins in the house, God will initiate a special invitation to believers to go and work in His fields in the time of the end.  These anointed individuals will agree to deliver the final altar call during a time of duress.  Those replying like Isaiah saying, “Send me” will receive a special blessing restoring them to their first love.  This strong flow of genuine emotion between them and an all-powerful Heavenly Father will surge through them and wash over many in the hi-ways and hedges of the last days.  During times of trial and travail the Holy Spirit will pour on, over, around and through the anointed ones in a manner that will surpass the upper room experience of the early church.  Acts 2:1-21

The saints seeking God during this time will become new vessels filled with the anointing oil of the Spirit of God.  This newness prepares them to drink deeply from the new wine in the cup of communion which represents the blood of Christ and acts like a transfusion for a dying man.  The saints will be entrusted with a message and empowered to deliver it even in troublous times.  The process will renew their minds so they are the wise virgins with their vessels full of oil.  Matthew 25:1-13

This period of time will be relatively brief lasting thirty days and parallels the month of Elul.  The month of Elul is a time during the biblical fall festivals that is dedicated to preparing for the Feast of Trumpets occurring immediately after Elul.  Again, when will this time begin?  I do not know.  The fall festivals delivered to the Israelites are object lessons regarding the fall of all things.  They herald the autumn of existence and provide lessons for personal behavior toward one another particularly in the autumn of our lives.  The fall festivals also remind us that the earth is waxing old and has an autumn season as well.  Isaiah 51:6   We do not know the day and hour, but we are not excused from knowing the season.  Matthew 24:30-35   It is my current understanding this time will be heralded by a global earthquake as a signal for the saints to begin intercessory prayer for the inhabitants of the planet.  At the end of the thirty days, they will receive the outpouring of the Holy Spirit preparing them to partake in God’s reconciliation of the world.  Psalm 51:12-13

(2) Reconcile the World–Once the church is restored, the reconciliation of the world will begin.  Since the church participates in the reconciliation, the spiritual preparation of the saints is a prerequisite to the reconciliation.  2 Corinthians 5:18-20  Please notice that God, in His patience and long suffering has dedicated a much larger amount of time to the reconciliation of the world than He has to wrath.  He is much more interested in saving the world than He is in destroying it.  John 3:16-21    I believe this period of time will last 3.5 years.

These are the Days of Awe.  God will reveal Himself to those with eyes to see and hears to hear.  It is also during this time God sends a delusion because they are not lovers of the truth.  2 Thessalonians 2:10-11  Many will believe in a god only when they can see him.  Satan will appear during this time and many will be deceived.  Jesus said, “I come in my father’s name, and ye receive me not; if another shall come in his own name, him ye shall receive.”   John 5:43  God is a God of grace and freewill.  Since they despise the truth, God will allow them to receive a lie.  These are the days of freewill – choose life.

(3) Wrath of God–Many living in the last days will not accept God’s offer of peace and reconciliation preferring to make war against the saints provoking God to wrath. Satan will ultimately lead these rebellious ones to make war against Jesus when He comes in the battle of Armageddon.  Revelation 16:12-20  However, a great multitude, including many of God’s loved ones and ours, will be reconciled and avoid God’s wrath.  Revelation 7:9-17   The pouring out of God’s wrath marks the very end of time and requires a Passover to shelter God’s own from His time of wrath.  Therefore, the spring festivals are woven into the fall festivals creating a tapestry that reveals end-time truth.

The wrath of God will be poured out in less than 50 days.  These are the days of counting the omer.  There were fifty days between First Fruits and the harvest of Pentecost.  The Israelites anxiously counted the days until the fruit of the harvest became completely ripe for harvest.  This time is a very precarious time for the harvest because the elements can be volatile during this time which threatens the ripening wheat.  The harvest would be routinely lost without a chance if it were not for the benevolence of God.

In the days of the final harvest, God expresses His wrath in the plagues.  Just like the Israelites in Egypt, the saints are sheltered from harm during this time by divine intervention.  Psalm 91:9-11  However, this is also the time that will be cut short for the sake of the elect or no one would survive the trauma of God’s wrath without mercy.  Matthew 24:15-22  Cutting this time short is part of God’s divine intervention.  This time begins with the outpouring of God’s wrath and will be readily recognized by the entire world as the wrath of God.  Of course, the saints will begin counting the days until the final harvest.  They will find great comfort in knowing this too shall pass.

(4) Reward the Saints–Once God’s strange act of slaying the rebellious is finished, He will raise the dead in Christ, and rescues the living saints.  Isaiah 28:21; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17  Death is the wage of sin and eternal life is the reward of God.  Christ brings reward with Him when He comes.  Revelation 22:12  This period of time will be at the end of God’s wrath and will happen in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.  1 Corinthians 15:50-58

(5) Rest for the Earth–Earth and its inhabitants will have a sabbatical.  For 1,000 years Satan will be bound in the bottomless pit.  Revelation 20:1-4  The rebellious will be paying the wages of sin which is death and the saints will be in Heaven with Jesus preparing to judge the rebellious angels and humans.  1 Corinthians 6:1-3   This period of time will last 1,000 years and is represented by the Feast of Tabernacles because we will tabernacle with God in His Heavenly home.  The tabernacle was a tent because it is representative of a temporary time.  We will not reside in Heaven forever.  At the end of the 1,000 years, we will all descend from Heaven and God will then dwell with man in the New Earth. Revelation 21:3-4

Immediately at the coming of Christ, thrones are set-up or established.  These thrones are the judgment seats of the saints.  Revelation 20:4  God the Father gave each of us freewill.  Consider, with all His foreknowledge, God gave us the right to choose.  He knew many would choose rebellion, but He also knew some would choose Him.  Creation and all that follows is an exercise in mining for individuals with the capacity to love Him.  Those retrieved from the pits of the earth are His treasured ones.  God predestined that all mankind will have eternal life, but His foreknowledge acknowledges our right to reject His offer.

With His foreknowledge He passed judgment at the foundation of the world and because He knew our intentions and our names, He wrote our names in the Book of Life and sealed it up.  Jesus, also knowing our names, calls His saints out of the graves by name at the resurrection.  At the great white throne judgment where every knee shall bow and every tongue confess, the Book of Life will be opened and the names the Father wrote will perfectly match the names Jesus redeems at His coming demonstrating they are one.  The only thing predestined about this process is your right to choose.  God predetermined to give every single person as heir to Adam the right to choose Him.  No one takes that from you.  God is an all knowing being, but that does not deny you the choice.

To further eternally establish His right to rule over us, God in His benevolence gives judgment to the saints.  We will judge mankind and angels.  1 Corinthians 6:2-4  In doing so, we also testify it is right that God reigns and not another.  We are not prepared at this time to make judgment.  Even at resurrection and redemption, after the change, we are still not ready to pass judgment because we do not know the beginning to the end.  Only God knows that.  At the invitation of Christ, the saints enter the Heavenly realm.  We will spend 1,000 years in Heaven beholding Christ and by beholding Him, we will become more like him.  During this time, the righteous angels will also bear witness to us.  Finally, we will have access to the books of deeds.  At the end of the 1,000 years we will know a measure of the beginning from the end and will be better prepared to judge the world and wicked angels.

When our judgment matches His, we validate the judgments determined by both the Father and the Son.  We will spend 1,000 years in Heaven going over the books of deeds discovering why people we expected to see there are absent.  Since our nature makes us more like the prince of this dark world and less like our Heavenly Father, we are very condemning.  Therefore, we will be surprised because Christ redeemed some individuals we consider unworthy.  Their presence in Heaven and our own testify to the benevolence of the Father.  The human perception of God is that he is very judgmental, but in reality He is looking for any excuse to save us.  Individuals we love including mothers, fathers, siblings daughters and sons will make up the group of sinners condemned by God.  After careful investigation, we will discover God gave them every ample opportunity and that His love for them is greater than our own.  He can share our grief in their eternal separation and dry our tears since His grief surpasses ours.  At the end of the 1,000 years at the Great White Throne, we shall join the universe in declaring the fairness and the finality of the judgment.  Revelation 22:11

(6) Resolve Sin–After the period of 1,000 years of rest, God and the saints living in the New City Jerusalem will descend from God out of Heaven.  All the rebellious people that have ever lived will take part in the 2nd resurrection.  They must stand in the presence of the Holy God seated on His throne to give an account of themselves.  Isaiah 45:22-24; Romans 14:10-12  Satan is loosed from the bottomless pit and reveals the true nature of the rebellious ones by persuading them to oppose God.  Right after they kneel before God and confess Him to be God, the rebellious, led by Satan, try to take the Holy City in the battle of Gog and Magog.  Fire comes down from God and destroys them. Revelation 20:5-15; 21:1-2    I do not know how long it will take to judge the rebellious ones, but it could be only a “day” of judgment. This event will be very sad for the saints, and it will be even sadder for God so He will not want to take longer than necessary to sentence our loved ones.

(7) Renew the Earth–How long will it take God to renew Earth?  I don’t know.  It took him six days at creation.  Many people think that is an absurdly short period of time to create the entire world, but I always wondered what took Him so long.  It is amazing to consider that we will witness God restoring all things to Adam and Eve and their offspring.  It is even more amazing to consider that God will move the headquarters for the entire universe to our restored planet so He can dwell with us forever.   Revelation 21:1-8   How long will the renewed Earth last–forever!

Post Your Opinion

The suggested time line is based upon scripture and aligned with the Israelite feasts and festivals.  This alignment will be shared in coming lessons.  As you progress through the lessons prepared, every thought and idea promoted by this Website will be supported by the witness of at least two passages of scripture.  You are also encouraged to ask questions and make comments at the end of each page.  With your permission, I beg to reserve the right to be wrong, but willing to learn.  Please consider that we are both children of God and should treat one another well.  We will be spending eternity with each other in the presence of our Heavenly Father and His angels.  We do not want to be ashamed of the way we treated each other regarding hard to understand matters.  With subdued hearts and primed minds let us begin the journey back to the beginning of time to better understand the end of time.

On the first day of creation there was only God and a longing for children.  God has a heart that is bent toward us.  He has a great desire to restore the man and woman back to their original place in the garden with dominion.  He demonstrates this great desire by restoring the body of believers.  It is Satan’s desire to destroy God’s saints and he has a variety of means in his tool bag, but God is more creative and unbound by time and location crossing eras and areas restoring His people.  He restores His own so others will see Him in His children and desire the Creator God as a Father instead of the prince of this dark world.

Men intuitively know that this world had a beginning and it will have an end.  This generation is rapidly gaining an awareness of how fragile our habitation is.  We have a certainty that our world as we know it will not last indefinitely.  We also understand more each day of the potential threats to our planet unless there is intervention.  Man thinks he can rally and intervene.  Most people deny that God is our intercessor and fails to accept that only divine intervention will intercede upon our behalf.

The Bible is very clear that the world that was created was also destroyed by water and will again be destroyed by fire. II Peter 3 The portion of our population with an interest in end time events ponders about the sequence and severity of end time things.  God will destroy the world we know, but the good news is that He will also recreate the world.  Instead of fearfully fixating on the end of the world we know, we should consider the world to come and invest in it.

Defending the Timeline

The prophetic language of the Bible is not linear.  If it were, then establishing a time line would be much easier.  Instead, the prophecies are delivered in a spiral fashion.  God repeats the same events expanding the revelation each time we travel around the information.  It is the constant circular teaching of the Bible that embraces all learning styles and every culture imparting understanding to each of us.

It seems apparent that God yearns to reveal His mysteries to us if we make it our heart’s desire; therefore, we can expect to establish a certain sequence within a time line.  For example, it makes sense to me that He will only recreate the new earth after destroying the old one because God will not recreate in the midst of the works of man’s hands.  All the things that man has raised will be razed.  If this assumption is a good one, we can establish the following time line.

Destroy the earth by His wrathRecreate and renew the earth
II Peter 3:3-13;
Isa 66:15-22
II Peter 3:13;
Rev 21:1-5;
Isa 65:17-25; 66:22

It also makes sense to me that God would not recreate the new earth unless He had abolished all lying, stealing, cheating, bloodshed, etc.  If these things are to exist in the new earth, it isn’t the paradise I had envisioned.  More importantly, it will not reflect the Promised Land God committed to us in His Word.  If you agree then perhaps you will also agree with the following time line:

Destroy the earth
by His wrath
Forever resolve
the effects of sin
Recreate and
renew the earth
II Peter 3:3-13;
Isa 66:15-22
Romans 14:10-12
Rev 20:11-15
Daniel 7:9-14
II Peter 3:13;
Rev 21:1-5;
Isa 65:17-25; 66:22

Not all the planet’s inhabitants know God, but His greatly beloved ones know Him intimately and there are certain things understood about God that will help us establish our time line.  I would also like to pause at this moment to point out that you do not have to be of a particular nation or notion to be greatly beloved by God.  I pray that you, God’s greatly beloved one, will read this and be moved to know the depths of God’s desire for your preservation.  God is patient, long-suffering and not willing that anyone would perish in the destruction of the old earth.  Therefore, we can with some certainty assume that before God destroys the world, he would do everything in his power to save the people in it through reconciliation.  That helps us to establish another event in the following time line.

Offer reconciliation
 to the world
Destroy the earth
by His wrath

God respects free will and always offers choice which helps explain the tree of knowledge between good and evil.  In my humble opinion, perhaps we would have been better off if that tree had not been available to Adam and Eve.  However, without it, we would never be free agents.  It is equally true that God could reveal Himself to us in all His glory and we would fall down and declare ourselves unworthy.  We would then serve Him through awe and fear.  Of course, we would choose Him and some people think that would also demonstrate freedom of choice, but how much freedom is given in coercion.  God wants more from His relationship with us.  What benevolent individual doesn’t have the right to expect more from a loved one?  Therefore, God is actively seeking individuals that have paused in this busy world long enough to consider Him and establish a relationship with Him so we can testify of Him.  God reveals Himself to those with faith in the vision, therefore, it is not only the vision we should pray for but faith.

When a stranger enters a community, sometimes they will go unnoticed.  Sometimes the stranger will be mistreated and maligned.  However, if someone from that community speaks well on their behalf, then suddenly they can become well received.  God is a spirit and does not intrude on flesh, but He will dwell with flesh by invitation.  The God of Heaven spoke the things of this world into being– except Adam.  It was man that God wanted a hands-on experience with so He molded the clay and shaped it into the first human.  Before God ever asked us to bow before Him, He knelt before His creation and breathed His breath into the man’s lungs, and suddenly everyone’s first forefather became a living soul.

God gifted us with life and dominion of a place made especially to be inhabited.  He can and will return claiming this planet as His since it is His by right of design.  However, God is currently honoring His commitment of reigning authority made to man in the garden.  Therefore, to maintain His integrity God desires an invitation and seeks someone willing to speak well of Him in our global community.  In the past God’s own spoke for Him–Seth, Noah, Shem, Abraham, Moses, etc.  Because of these voices and ours, God has always had a people He could speak through.

Today, God has a people and the Bible calls it the church or congregation.  Satan rises up against the church to tear it down; therefore, God daily restores the church.  I believe the church has a work.  The church has always had a work and in the end time the labor of the church will become intense; therefore, God’s last generation of believers will be reborn during a time of duress.  The duress is the bad news; however, the good news is that they will be born. Isaiah 66:7-13

Eve was cursed with hard labor in delivering her children and all mothers have partaken of the curse.  It is my understanding that the woman experiences labor in childbirth because the bride of Christ, the mother of all believers, has to labor in this world to bring believers into the kingdom.  Satan will be angry because he has such a short time left so he will pursue the woman to ensure that she never gives birth and when she does deliver, he will be determined to destroy her children the minute they are born.  However, through the restoration of the church, God’s own will find refuge from Satan’s attack.

I believe that God has often reconciled the people of the world to Himself by the persuasive power of the Holy Spirit pouring through the agents of belief.  The Spirit of God has drawn men to Himself through the righteous acts of the saints through all the ages.  The last age will be the same.  The church will be empowered through restoration by the Holy Spirit so that inhabitants of the last days will be drawn to God through reconciliation and avoid the wrath of God.  Our time line now looks like the following:

Our generation has become notorious for being the me generation.  We do not perform until the answer to “What’s in it for me?” has been offered.  However, because of man’s nature, every population of each era has been the me generation to some degree.  Mankind does not normally provide for their fellow man but for individual gain.  Therefore, for the sake of motivation it is imperative that mankind knows the reward before we will engage.  God has promised great reward to the saints–mansions, streets of gold, pearly gates, etc.  Monetary reward is very important and the new earth certainly offers those things, but it has value that cannot be measured with money because it is so very priceless.

How can we understand what Heaven is like?  As I read the scriptures of Jesus describing Heaven, I can hear Him describing the unseen location with a wistful voice as He peers longingly off into the distance at a place we cannot yet see and says, “Heaven is like . . .”  He then pauses before carefully choosing His words.  His manner is similar to the way a mother would speak to her only small child when she desperately desires to implant greatness in the young mind.  Jesus told us that Heaven is like a pearl of great price and that a man would go and sell all that he has just so he could purchase it.  I believe that if we had enough vision, we would see that even a rich man’s holdings in this world cannot compare.  We would without hesitation forsake the things of this world to receive the riches from above.  How sad that we do not have vision and since we are blind, we cannot see.  The servants of God have great reward, but when will we receive it?  According to the scriptures we receive reward immediately after the world receives wrath.

Our poor old world is showing signs of age.  In Paul’s day he described the earth as waxing old like a garment.  His concern for the planet and its creatures would utterly dismay him today.  One thing God commanded Israel to do that would help to replenish their land was to let it lay fallow for an entire year every seven years.  God was very serious about this command because not only would it restore the earth, but it was also a rest for God’s people to remind them that God is their portion in the land.

God wanted to provide for Israel and He wanted them to recognize His willingness to provide for them in abundance.  Letting the land rest was God’s way of accomplishing both the physical and spiritual needs of Israel.  However, they did not do as God commanded.  God’s commandments are not suggestions and there are consequences for disobedience.  The word tells us that Israel went into captivity for seventy years.  If you count every seventh year and the Jubilee years during the time they occupied Canaan, there appear to have been seventy sabbaticals the land should have had.  Apparently, they did not give the earth its rest while they were in the Promised Land.  If this is true, it could explain why they stayed in captivity seventy years.  Jeremiah 25:11, 2 Chronicles 36:21

It also appears that the earth has never had its sabbatical, but it will and so will the people of God.  According to scriptures this sabbatical will last for 1,000 years.  Revelation 20:1-6  Since Moses and the Exodus, the Israelites have been the keepers of time and according to them Adam was created about 6,000 years ago.  If the earth has existed for about 6,000 years people and the earth rests for 1,000 years and, then doing the math indicates that every seventh year is a required rest for the earth.  Sin will reign only for a specified period of time.  I offer the thought that perhaps sin reigns for 7,000 years with the last millennium being a period of rest.  During the time that sin reigns and resides on earth, God provides a respite in a restful place.  In considering where to place the sabbatical, I think the following time line fits best.

Why Seven Steps?

The time line we have created takes us through end-time events beginning with the restoration of the saints of the last days of Earth all the way to the New Heavens and Earth.  I am not surprised that there are seven.  The number seven is very important to God and is used over and over to impart spiritual truth.  The number seven is used fifty-two times in the book of Revelation alone.  I think the number seven is so spiritually significant because God desires to have at-one-ment with us.  Atonement can only be accomplished by reconciling man to God through the cross.

This was clearly demonstrated in the garden when Adam and Eve recognized their nakedness and God killed the first animal and made clothing for them.  It is only through death of the innocent that the guilty can be atoned for.  Only redemption by the nearest kinsman can bring us back into the kingdom of rest.  God Himself will wrest us from the unrest of this world providing peace between Himself and any nation that will lay down arms aimed at Him and His.

On the first day there was only God so God is number one.  God is a jealous God.  He is jealous for us because no other god will love me and you before we first loved Him.  Man was created on the sixth day explaining in part why man’s number is six.  When you add 1 + 6 you get the number seven.  What a coincidence that the symbol for addition is a cross reflecting God’s desire to bring together Heaven and Earth.  God longs to dwell with man and has since our inception; therefore, the number that reflects our atonement is the number seven and is holy to God.  It should be to us.  In the following chart demonstrating the sequence of events of the last days, I chose the rainbow as a background because it is a sign of the covenant between God and mankind.

Sign of God’s Covenant

We saw the rainbow for the first time after God destroyed the earth by water.  That doesn’t mean that was the first time God covenanted with man, it is just the first time he gave mankind through Noah the sign of his covenant.  Genesis 9:8-17  It is equivalent to Pharaoh giving Joseph his signet ring which was a sign of Joseph’s great power in Egypt.  This sign reminds the entire universe of our legal position with the God of the universe and moves some to jealousy.

The first covenant was when the lamb was slain from the foundation of the earth.  Consider for a moment that before man was, God cared and made provision through the covenant that required the slaying of the lamb from the foundation of the earth. Revelation 13:8  Is He a capable provider or what?  God knew we were flesh; therefore, He knew our limitations.  Unfortunately, we did not disappoint Him.  Well, at least we didn’t take Him by surprise.

We often talk about the old covenant versus the new covenant.  Christians have been doing that since the crucifixion.  However, I propose that while God has often times in the past renewed the covenant with man through various agencies making it new; the covenant has always contained the same offer from the beginning because God is the same always and forever.  While the covenant is the same, it had to be renewed throughout the ages because man kept violating the covenant breaking the contractual agreement.  God being merciful and greatly desiring a relationship with mankind was always benevolent, forgiving and willing to reestablish the covenant with humanity.  Someday his patience will cease.

After the flood God put his rainbow in the sky as evidence to Heaven and Earth of his commitment and our opportunity.  Revelation is very rich in symbolism and just as we can expect to see the sign of God’s promise in the sky after a thunderstorm, we can expect to witness the sign of the covenant during a time of great duress such as the world has never known.  The Revelation of Jesus does not disappoint us.  The Father and the Son remind Heaven and Earth of their commitment to us in Revelation 4:3 and Revelation 10:1-7.  Wearing the rainbow like a banner, They dispel the false notion that God is disinterested in us, our planet and our trials.

All men, women and children pause and wonder when they see the rainbow  in the sky.  Many hearts are moved to believe that there really is someone and some significant place “out there” since the arch of the rainbow appears to be a stairway to Heaven.  Yes, the rainbow arches up to the sky, and it also bends back to Earth.  We will take a trip to Heaven, but God will ultimately reestablish our place on Earth.

Stairway to Heaven

Men have, for longer than humanity can recall, built pyramids.  The most common pyramid is also called a ziggurat known as the stairway to heaven.  This type of pyramid is common in Mexico.  It is also the type of pyramid built in Ur and Haran, the former lands of Abraham.  Jacob had just left home and was returning to the people of his mother in Haran.  These people were also descended from the same family as Abraham.  God knew Jacob would see an impressive ziggurat used to worship the moon god and would be tempted by his mother’s people to worship at its altar.

As Jacob slept that night, God revealed the real Stairway to Heaven with angels ascending and descending.  Jesus said that He was this stairway.  John 1:51  I believe the ladder that Jacob saw was a ziggurat.  All the pyramids of the Earth, including the Tower of Babel, are Satan’s counterfeit of the real thing.  Except for the pyramids in Egypt, each pyramid is topped with a temple.    The ziggurats of the world represent Satan’s plan to establish himself in the temple of God believing that he is God.

Someday, the time of Jacob’s trouble will begin marking the end of the ages and we will receive an invitation to climb that stairway into Heaven.  Our journey will begin with an in-depth knowledge of the savior to the world–Jesus of Nazareth, the Rock of Offense.  This same rock is where Jacob rested.  He slept with his head upon Jesus and after waking from his dream, he established a place of worship upon this rock of peace.  Genesis 28

The story of Jesus revealed in Revelation is the richest, most prevalent known to mankind and is full of the promise of the covenant.  Its assurance is everywhere in the rich symbolism borrowed from the Jewish Bible and established in the New Testament.  You are invited and encouraged to continue with the story in greater detail by clicking on the first link at the bottom of the page to learn more about God’s restoration of the church.  As you step up on the first rung of Jacob’s ladder know that this study has the power to profoundly change you.

Final Thought:The new city Jerusalem that descends from God out of Heaven is four square and has twelve foundations.  It has the same measurements in width, depth and height. Revelation 21:14-17  There are only two shapes that fit this description, one is the cube and the other is a pyramid.  I suggest the new city Jerusalem is built like a step pyramid with twelve steps. The scriptures readily refer to Jerusalem as Mount Zion and vice versa.  Zechariah 8:3  If the New Jerusalem is shaped like a pyramid, it would better represent a mountain and more readily fit the description in the scriptures–just a thought!

“Jewish women in oriental countries took pride in baking for Shavuot a seven-layer cake called Siete Cielos (Seven Heavens), symbolic of the traditional seven celestial spheres God traversed to present the Torah to Moses on Mount Sinai. Fashioned in seven circular tiers, one smaller than the other with the smallest on top, it was decorated with various symbols such as a star of David, the rod of Moses, the two tablets of the Law, manna, Jacob’s ladder, and the ark of the covenant. Others topped the cake with a seven-rung ladder to recall Moses ascending Mount Sinai.”
